The Board supports the right of the people to know about the programs and services of their schools and makes efforts to disseminate appropriate information (Board policy KBA- Public's Right to Know). Any individual who wants to obtain a copy of a public record may request the duplicate on any medium the Superintendent/designee determines as an integral part of normal operations. If the person seeking the record makes a choice [to have the record duplicated on the same medium on which the record is kept], a fee may be charged for copies. The District may require the fee charged for copies be paid in advance.

From the Ohio Department of Education, "In his first State-of-the-State address, Governor Ted Strickland called for the creation of "a better system for knowing what we're getting for our money." He called for a "transparent accounting system" that "will finally let us see exactly where our money goes and what it accomplishes." Additionally, the School Funding Subcommittee of the Ohio State Board of Education has begun a research effort to better understand where current education dollars are being spent, if they are being expended effectively and efficiently, and if the expenditures are leading to improved student achievement."
